NZL10 & NZL12
International America's Cup Class Yachts
Designed by Bruce Farr and built as IAC Class
development yachts for N Z Challenge in 1991,
NZL 10 and 12 led to New Zealand’s dominance
of the America’s Cup during the 1990s.

Over-engineered from the beginning, NZL 10
and 12 served as the departure point for more
radical designs such as NZL 14, 20 and 38.
NZL 10 and 12 were used as development yachts
and training boats by NZ Challenge’s 1992
and Team New Zealand’s 1995 AC campaigns.
They were then used for the highly successful
Road to the America’s Cup regatta, similar
in format to the upcoming Louis Vuitton Pacific
Series, in 1999, prior to being sold to private
owners in 2000.
