VISION has been designed by Charles NICHOLSON
and built in Gosport, England by
Camper & Nicholson.
Three boats have been built under the same design:
CUTTY TOU, SUZETTE, VISION.
All three are in French waters. SUZETTE has
been restored to sail the Cartier class.
CUTTY and VISION have been braught up to date
to sail in Sira.
The SIRA CUP is a trophy given by the King of
Norway for the winner in the World series for
the boats built prior to 1960.
VISION has been ordered by George GOODHERHAM
from Royal Canadian Yacht Club in 1930 in order
to race the Canada Cup.
In 1992, VISION was purchased by the last owner
in Toronto from Robin CLARKE, owner of the boat
since 1978. Over the next 14 years she raced
the Canadian and World Champs.
She won the SIRA CUP in 1983, 1984 & 1985.
From delivery of the boat during summer 1992,
she was sailed for a few months in order to
check what needed to be done aboard.
An extensive renovation programme took place
within a local shipyard for 10 months.
She then took part in the local races in Arcachon
to practise before entering into the official
races.
